NOI Techpark, a semi-public tech hub in Bolzano, calls itself the "South Tyrolean innovation district." Built on an old aluminum factory site, it fosters sustainable tech R&D and supports startups. It hosts Fraunhofer Italia, Eurac Research, and the Free University of Bolzano. Key focus: digitization, with projects like Bolzano's Beacon network and the OpenData Hub for tourism and mobility, driving South Tyrol's tech progress.
About the project
Implementation of an authentication server for central administration of authentication and authorization processes.
The Central Authentication Server is used by NOI Techpark to implement access for the use of applications and services via a central server. The server allows users to access dozens of applications and services offered by NOI with a single login. As a result, not all security-relevant elements have to be implemented individually, but are outsourced to a single location, in which authentication and authorization processes are handled without detours. In addition, the administration of groups, users and authorizations runs through a central system and in a single central location. Consequently, a registered user can directly access the applications released for him/her via his/her own account. Each user must have only one account to access all the different applications. In addition, the Central Authentication Server now includes standard security features such as two-factor authentication and password recovery capabilities.
- OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect
- Single sign-on
- Two-factor authentication
- Central user management
- Central permission management
- Multiple client / language integrations
