About the project
Concept and development of the OMNI channel platform, through which RIS develops functionality centrally, just once, and makes it available in the web online banking, app online banking, and the internal banking application. At its core is a modern process engine that allows multi-step processes – such as a handover from customer to bank advisor – to be implemented and monitored quickly.
In 2023, we began supporting RIS in building the new OMNI channel platform. Until then, every new feature had to be developed separately for the web online banking, the app online banking, and the internal banking application – a significant effort that noticeably slowed down further development and maintenance.
The goal of the new platform was to develop functionality only once, centrally, and then integrate it into all three applications. We played a key role in conceiving and elaborating the architecture, and together with the RIS team we built a solid foundation that other developers can also build new features on in a second step.
Many of the functionalities in OMNI are multi-step processes: a customer might start an application in online banking, which a bank advisor then takes over at a certain point and completes. To map such cross-channel processes efficiently, we designed and developed a dedicated process engine together with RIS.
The engine creates the framework needed to program new processes quickly, while also enabling good monitoring of processes in progress. Besides the architecture, we also co-developed the platform's first workflows and features, ensuring the practical value of the new foundation from the very start.
